CMCS Data Release Policy

By using the protein-protein interaction database, the user agrees to the following.

The CMCS is not responsible for errors contained in the protein-protein interaction database, or for consequences arising from using the protein-protein interaction database. Forthcoming publications from the CMCS will detail methods and controls used in the acquisition of data underlying the protein-protein interaction database.

The following acknowledgement must be included in any publications, presentations, reports, databases, websites, or data analyses that have used the CMCS protein-protein interaction database: “Protein-protein interaction data were obtained from the Center for Molecular and Cellular Systems (mippi.ornl.gov) which is sponsored at Oak Ridge National Laboratory by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Biological and Environmental Research.”

The CMCS will provide, via this web site, periodic updates to the protein-protein interaction database containing experimental measurements. Initially, these releases are planned at six-month intervals.

Data that will be publicly available are described on the help page http://mippi.ornl.gov/help.shtml. Other forms or subsets of the data may be available by special request.

The CMCS reserves the right to publish a description of the overall protein-protein interaction database, and the methods used to obtain the contents of that database.

If the CMCS acquires data as part of a collaboration, those data will not be included in the publicly released protein-protein interaction database until one year after initial acquisition of the data, to provide an opportunity for the collaborator to publish results based on those data. Earlier release will be considered if the collaborator provides permission.
